AboutĀ Annette

Annette Jett, MBA, is a systems thinker, policy advocate, and passionate parent who brings a powerful blend of lived experience and professional leadership to everything she does.

She’s the co-founder of Build Inclusion, a Kentucky-based nonprofit serving individuals across a cross-disability landscape. Since 2015, Annette has helped hundreds of students and young adults transition into inclusive, meaningful roles in schools, communities, and the workplace.

Her advocacy is grounded in both heart and strategy—and has made measurable impact at the policy level.

Annette’s Philosophy

Annette’s journey began with the birth of her daughter, which launched her into a world of parent advocacy and relentless research.

She understands the personal toll that comes from having to fight for basic rights—and the power that comes from asking the right questions, challenging outdated beliefs, and demanding better.

She believes that intentional inclusion is the key to social justice—and that policies must be rooted in lived experience, not disconnected assumptions.

Leadership in Action

Annette’s leadership has led to statewide influence. In 2025, she co-authored legislation improving accountability in Kentucky’s vocational rehabilitation system—passing unanimously in both chambers and signed into law by the governor.

She’s a sought-after speaker, curriculum designer, and inclusion strategist, who bridges the gap between policy and personal empowerment.

Her work focuses on:

  • System reform
  • Legislative advocacy
  • Youth transition planning
  • Building inclusive organizational cultures
